Robert Allan “Bobby” Nedwick went home to The Lord, on February 12, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany NY. Born on January 13, 1951, in Glen Cove, N.Y., to Zygmund & Eleanor Nedwick. He was beloved throughout his entire life by friends, family, co-workers and neighbors alike. Bobby was a kind-hearted, gentle giant of a man who always placed others first and was a devoted friend to anyone lucky enough to know him. In 1970 he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Linda Nedwick (Diandrea) and the two remained married for 56 years until the time of his passing, enjoying each-others company and living out the dream of a lifetime together in devotion and harmony in the tranquil setting of their country home & acreage.
In 1986 Bobby and Linda moved their young family consisting of Robert, Christopher & Stephanie, upstate to Ancram, N.Y. in Columbia County. As a boy Bobby spent summers at his beloved Uncle Bill & Aunt Anne’s farmhouse in Churchtown, N.Y. creating a lifetime worth of cherished memories alongside his brothers Zygmund “Ziggy”, Edward, Kenneth & John as well as his older sister Elizabeth. Bobby was employed for almost forty years in the petroleum construction & environmental compliance industry working at innumerable locations throughout Long Island, NYC and Lower Hudson Valley and was considered an expert in his field. At work he made countless lifelong friends with whom he stayed in touch and who loved and respected him greatly.
During his life Bobby enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors and could frequently be seen working on his property, perfecting driveways, fields and landscapes as well as harvesting wood for his beloved wood stove. Bobby was a lifelong antiques collector aficionado who refurbished hundreds of pieces mostly of American & French Country origin, opening one of the early antiques shops in Columbia County in 1988. At home, he loved watching Yankees Games, old movies, documentaries, listening to classic country music and his wife’s home cooked meals. Bobby was a prolific reader who accumulated hundreds of books. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of historical and military topics and was most passionate about The American Civil War, Revolutionary War and World War II. Bobby was happiest in the presence of family and in addition to his devoted wife Linda, was most at peace when his children and grandchildren were nearby. Above all he was dedicated to his family who were equally dedicated to him right to the end.
He is survived by his wife Linda Nedwick, his oldest son Robert Nedwick of Greenport, N.Y. (Elizabeth), son Christopher Nedwick of Saratoga Springs NY (Julie), daughter Stephanie Nedwick of Ancram (Ian Boehme), grandsons Aidan Jacob Nedwick, Christopher Ethan Nedwick and Joseph Henry Nedwick.
Memorial services are private and disclosed by the family.
