Richard "Richie" Mason 

September 11, 1952 – October 20, 2026

Richard "Richie" Mason, a lifelong resident of Albany, New York, passed away in on October 20th at the age of 74.

Richie dedicated over 35 years of hard work and service to the City of Albany as a sanitation worker. Known for his incredibly friendly nature, he never met a stranger. He loved nothing more than a good chat, possessed a deep generosity of spirit, and had a great laugh. When he wasn't catching up with friends and neighbors, Richie was an avid sports fan who could be found passionately cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Lyndsey Jo Pavlock (Scott Pavlock); his brothers, Paul Mason; Michael (Sherry) Mason; and his sister, Virginia (Daniel) Davis as well as many friends and family.

Richie was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Doris Mason; his brothers, John and Joseph Mason; and his sisters, Philomena Landon and Patricia Ricuppero.

Visitation will be held at New Comer Funeral Home in Albany on October 27th 2026 from 10:00-11:00am followed by a short service at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richie's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
