Richard "Dickie" LaFar, 70, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Richard was the son of the late David and Jennie (Cramer) LaFar.
Dickie was a cook while in the Army National Guard. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Yankees and Giants. He loved bowling, softball and dancing.
Dickie is survived by his sister, Kathleen "Susie" LaFar; uncle, John L. Saddlemire; nieces,Christina (Michael) McGuire and Erin E. (Dan) LaFar-Taylor.
Dickie was predeceased by his brother, Dan LaFar.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
The family requests that donations be made in Dickie's memory to The American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
