Albany- Richard M. "Mr. C" "Coach" "Roc" Conley, 74, passed away suddenly on December 23, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born and raised in Albany, Rich graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. He worked for the New York State Office of General Services as a painting supervisor until his retirement. Rich was a sports fanatic, both playing and coaching. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He coached basketball at Our Lady of Angels grade school and little league at Westland Hills. Rich enjoyed travelling, especially to Las Vegas and Alexandria Bay. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Ann Conley; his children: Rich (Sarah) Conley, Jill (Monte Clark) Conley and Beau Conley; his four granddaughters: Alli and Alexa Dillenbeck and Brianna and Addison Conley; his brother, Harold (Karen) Wixon; his siblings-in-law: Kathleen M. Jones and Joseph (Deborah) Jones; his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by his beloved pets: Vegas, Caesar, Sox and Chica.
Rich was predeceased by his in-laws, Joe and Jerry Jones; his sister, Sue Stallings and his brother-in-law Michael K. Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, December 29 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be at 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
