Richard William Brennan, 74, of Clifton Park, NY and Fort Myers, FL, known lovingly as "Poppi", entered into eternal rest on September 3rd. He was predeceased by his parents William and Virginia (Strazzi) Brennan. He is survived by his long-time companion Dianna Basile, his former wife Corine Latrell Brennan, his children Kelly Brennan First (David First), Richard John Brennan (Ashley Logan Brennan) and his four beloved grandchildren, Jack and Logan Brennan, and Lilly and Oliver First.
A 1961 Graduate of Mont Pleasant HS, Richard, a patriot, proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1960-1966. He was a loyal 34-year employee of Niagara Mohawk/National Grid, a 35-year Elks member, a former semi-pro football player, avid golfer, cook, fisherman, hockey fan and most importantly, an incredible dad. His love of life and all it has to offer was apparent to all who had the opportunity to meet him. His family and friends, though heartbroken, are left with memories to cherish; lessons taught of how to enjoy each day and live life to its fullest. He leaves behind family, regularly adored, all graced with the warm embrace of knowing they were loved.
To honor his memory, take a page from his book and soak in a St Maarten sunset. Eat bay scallops when they're in season. Enjoy a cold beverage on a warm Florida afternoon. Play a round of golf with good friends or a round with someone you've never met before, and whom you will consider a friend by the 3rd hole. Rave about an "outstanding" meal, the best you've ever had, regularly. Enjoy your family and smile ear to ear out of happiness for someone else.
