Albany- Raymond L. Martel, Jr., 61, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 12, 2018 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born on April 9, 1957, he was the son of the late Raymond L. and Lillian R. (Town) Martel, Sr. Ray was a lifelong Albany resident and worked for more than 34 years for the City in various capacities. He started his career working as a tow truck driver for the Albany Police Traffic Safety Division and then the Traffic Engineering Department. He then worked for the City of Albany Water Department until his retirement. Ray was devoted to his family and was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
He is survived by his siblings: Robert L. (Lorraine) Boyd, Harvey J. Martel, Barbara J. Martel and Janet L. (Troy) Zalatan; his nieces and nephews: Tina (Dave) Allegretta, Eric Boyd, Jason Martel, Bryan Martel, Adam Martel and Elizabeth Martel, Kyle Parker and Calynn Parker; he is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be missed by Kevin "Goatman" Stackman. 598, I will always love you. Scooter Pie, I will always love you, and make sure you take care of the Wuss.
In keeping with Ray's wishes, all services will be privately held by his family.
