Raymond Stanley 'Stan' Christy, 61, died on March 12th, 2026, at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. He was a 4 yr. resident of Milton moving from his 20yr. residence on Front St., Schenectady.
He was born June 12th, 1964, in Canton NY to parents Richard 'Dick' Christy and Irene Gilette. He now joins them in heaven. He was educated in Canton schools and was a college student while still in high school.
After briefly moving to San Diego, he came back home finally settling in the Capital Region. He briefly ran a popular tattoo parlor in Amsterdam settling in Schenectady where he was a manager for several Cumberland stores throughout Schenectady.
After a cancer battle, he worked for Proctor's Theater where he helped to turn around a moribund popcorn/candy shop in the theater and wore many hats giving his superior gifts of management and professional decorum to enhance the theater experience.
While living in the Stockade neighborhood he was the go-to person for myriad projects for many property owners naming his business as 'Stan-the-Honey-do Man'. Stan was also the operator of a snow plowing business known as 'Plow-N-Go' - he was proud of his small Jeep Wrangler plow that got through the small spaces throughout the Stockade neighborhood.
After moving into his first home on Front St. he owned a successful 5-star bed and breakfast - G&S B&B - for three successful years. He and his husband, Gerald, were proud of their service to the paying public and were the only certified city sanctioned B&B in the City of Schenectady and County.
He leaves his loving and devoted husband of 27 years, Gerald F. Plante, his stepsister Holly Stone and her husband Jim and their families along with a myriad of friends near and far.
His memorial service will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville on Friday, March 27th at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, etc. please give a gift to your local animal shelters.
