ALBANY

Rachelle Quickley Shabazz Bey-El, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. Rachelle was born on March 19, 1970, to Joseph A. and Gwendolyn Quickley in Albany, NY. 

Rachelle grew up in Albany, New York where she was educated in the Albany Public School District where she graduated and attained her high school diploma. Rachelle worked for various employers in the City of Albany and in the Health Care Field. Rachelle was a beautiful person who loved spending time with her family, dancing, cooking for gatherings or finishing a 1000+ pieces puzzle.

Rachelle memories remain forever with her husband Nobleman Majestic Shabazz Bey-El, six (6) children Kameisha (Shay) Quickley, Jay-R, Jiir, Kizzi Briceus, Empress and I’miir Shabazz Bey-El of Albany, New York; three (3) step-children Charles and Majestic Pounds, RaSada Shabazz Bey-El Hemmingway; Mother, Gwendolyn Quickley; three (3) sisters Rena Shemecca (Equality), Rahshon (Steven) Muhammad, Rameisha (Kurt) Lewis of Albany, NY; step-sister Keshema Quickley of North Carolina; two (2) Uncles Earl (Karen) Green of Albany and John A (JoEllen) Quickley Jr of Los Angeles, CA; three (3) Aunts Marcella Green of Texas, Johanna Hines of Albany, Jayanne Harrison of Schenectady; Special Nieces and Nephew Afeisha, Alaasia, Islaama I-Allah Gause; Special Cousins Sonja (Milton) Gaddy, Omarr Martin, Johanna (Babygirl) Sierra; eight (8) grandchildren, one (1) great grandson; and best friend Takia Sydnor. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Rachelle was predeceased in death by her father Joseph A. Quickley, stepson Rahiim Pounds, and both maternal and paternal grandparents James and Gladys Green, and Joseph and Margaret (Peggy) Quickley.

The family acknowledges with sincere appreciation the many acts of kindness, concern, love, and sympathy extended during the loss of our loved one.

There will be no service. The family will receive relatives and friends, Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm at North Albany American Legion Post, 35 North First Street, Albany, NY 12204.
