Quincy L'Shaion Alston, also known as Q' The Song, was born on June 2, 1976, in Albany, NY. The son of Floyd Wayne Deweitt and Elaine Alston-Burden (Larry). He passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2025, at the age of 49. He was the father of Harmony Whitehill.
Quincy attended Albany Public Schools before moving to Rensselaer, NY., where he completed Junior High and High School. He then attended the University of New Hampshire and earned an Associate Degree. After taking a break from academics, Quincy toured internationally, performing under the stage name, "Q The Song" and serving as an opening act for various groups. Upon returning home, he worked in the medical field at Albany Nursing Home and the Daughters of Sarah until an injury prevented him from continuing his career.
Quincy is survived by his daughter Harmony Whitehill; Mother Elaine Alston, Brothers Corey Alston, Larry Burden Jr., and Edwin Mims; Sisters Marva Parsons, Dollette Mims, Vonette Dewitt, and Queshia Dewitt; God-Sisters Samia (Anthony McCall), Symaline Massey, and Shamaya Massey; God-Brother Sanfort (Teya) Tanksley; and GodFather Sanfort Tanksley Sr., as well as numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Colvel and Louella DeWitt, Charles David Anderson and May Frances Hardwick-Alston; Brotehr Floyd Wanye DeWitt Jr., his Father Floyd Wayne DeWitt Sr., Aunts: Bernadette, Ruth, Uncles; Herbert, Howard, Vincent, Bernard "Paul" Auston, God-Sister Sophia Massey; and Godmothers Amelia Meadows-Delia, Marcolini Morales, and Stacey Chappelle.
A cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched us all. May your spirit find eternal peace, and your memory forever illuminate our hearts. With deepest sympathy, we celebrate the beautiful life you lived.
