Phillip J. McGeough, Sr.

HALFMOON-Phillip J. McGeough, Sr. age 74, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026.

He was born in Albany, the son of the late Thomas and Dorothy McGeough.

Phil retired from the Albany County Sheriff's Office as a Correction Officer Captain.

A great father who was always there—especially for sporting events—Phil Sr. loved cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, watching football, and settling in with old movies on TV. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep love for his family.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, his son Phil Jr. (Elisabeth); daughters, Kelly (Bill), Kim, Lisa (Rick), Barbara (Mike), and Sandy; grandchildren, Mike, Jake, TJ, Taylor, Samantha, Corbin and Caroline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas, and Thomas’ wife Ruth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his celebration of life services following at 12 Noon.
