Guilderland –
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and Papa, Peter Nicholas Prusko, on June 24, 2026, at the age of 72.
Peter is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna; his loving children, Carmella Fusco (Adam), Nicholas Prusko (Rachael), and Gabriel Prusko; and his cherished granddaughters, Mariana, Olivia, and Raegan, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Condon of New Port Richey, FL; his sister, Patricia Smolansky (Stephen) of Belleair Beach, FL; his brother, Rev. Richard Prusko (Donna) of Utica, NY; his brother-in-law, Richard Pillig of Poughkeepsie, NY; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Kathleen Pillig.
Peter graduated from Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam, New York, before earning his bachelor's degree from SUNY Plattsburgh. He dedicated his professional career to New York State, ultimately retiring from the Office of the State Comptroller, where he worked as a database administrator.
Above all else, Peter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose selflessness, kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family touched everyone who knew him. After retiring, he treasured every moment spent with his family, especially his granddaughters, who brought him endless joy. He enjoyed strumming his guitar and listening to the music of some of his favorite artists, including Eric Clapton and Joe Bonamassa. His gentle presence, generous heart, and steadfast love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
Service information to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mohawk Humane Society.
Peter's family would like to thank everyone for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time.
