Penelope Bounds

January 24, 1972 — January 25, 2024

Penelope Bounds, 52, fell asleep in death on Thursday, January 25, 2024 with her loved ones by her side at home in Rotterdam, NY.

She was born at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY on January 24, 1972. She married Charles R. Bounds on June 17, 2007.

Penelope was full of love, compassion, and empathy towards everyone in her life. Her ever present smile forged many friendships. Her heart was bigger than her stature, and she loved her husband, daughter, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other relatives without boundaries. Her family and friends knew they were loved by her, as she selflessly gave of herself without expecting much in return. She held friendships that spanned decades. Penelope held firm to her beliefs and did not allow anyone to change her views. From youth, she knew there was a love greater than all she'd ever known and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in April of 1990 - a decision she cherished until the end.

She loved her husband's cooking and enjoyed dining out and traveling together. She cherished the adventures they shared throughout the years. She also enjoyed her career as a licensed CNA at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. It was her love for people that led her to this honorable path. Among her hobbies was her special fascination for frogs, her former dog CJ, and her fish Blue - the latter two held a special corner of her heart.

Penelope is predeceased by her mother, Ruth Z. Pimentel and maternal grandparents, Geronimo Pimentel and Iris. N. Lopez de Victoria.

She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Bounds, their daughter, Chantel Bounds, her sisters, Iris N. Dukes, C. Raquel Centeno, and Evette Z. Porter, Frances (Raymond) Mitchell, Jessica (Tito) Ramos, and Emily (Omar) Lewis. Brothers Mark, Antonio and Tito. Her father, Antonio Centeno. Her nieces - Ebony, Essence, Najee, Ayanna, Suniyah, and Sarahlyn. Her nephew Joshua and countless cousins (too many to list but they know who they are). Maternal aunts - Sara, Elizabeth, Carmen, Librada, and Noemi. Uncles Howard, Phil, Geronimo, and Rafael. She was dearly loved by her sister-in-law, Marquita Mayweather (Tommie), her brother-in-law, Anthony Carter, her father-in-law and wife, Willie J. Carter and Ladora Carter, and her very special aunt, Earline Bounds.

The family would like to thank everyone who took part in making sure Penelope received all the proper care and attention she merited.
