Paula J. Grogan

Paula J. Grogan, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Albany Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

Paula was born in Boston Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Viggo P. Jorgensen and Margaret (Healey) Jorgensen. Paula was the devoted wife of over 58 years, to the late John J. Grogan, Jr.

She was educated in the Albany Schools having graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1947.

She worked as a legal secretary with Sommers & Sommers for many years.

Paula was a member and a communicant of Mater Christi.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara O'Hare, her son-in-law Rocco A. Cole, her brother-in-law Charles Schneider and her sister-in-law Carol Clancy.

Paula is the beloved mother of; Karen M. Cole and her partner Aidan O'Connor of Coxsackie, NY, John J. Grogan III and his wife Sandra of Albany, NY; grandmother of Jessica J. and John Grogan IV and his wife Elizabeth. She is the sister-in-law of Rita Schneider of Albany. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her feline companion, Dusty.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, New York on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on October 1, 2016 at 9:30 am at Mater Christi Church, 35 Hurst Ave., Albany, NY. Burial will be private.
