Paul A. Van Epps, 62, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was comforted in his final moments by those who meant the most to him.
Born in Albany, New York, Paul was the son of the late William D. Van Epps and Ann D. Van Epps. From an early age, he embodied the values of hard work, loyalty, and love for family that would come to define his life.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Van Epps (Eden); and their three sons, Brian Van Epps (Meghan), Timothy Van Epps (Jessica), and Gregory Van Epps. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Charlotte, Cameron, and Lucas, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Paul is also survived by his brother, William A. Van Epps, and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard Haight, Joann Wagenbaugh, and John Haight.
Paul’s life was rooted in time spent with the people he loved most. He found joy in coaching, attending, and cheering at his sons’ sporting events, visiting and reminiscing with family and friends, and offering his steadfast support to everyone around him. His thoughtful advice, calming presence, and unmatched sense of humor made him someone people turned to - and someone they could always count on.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held in his honor, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and gratitude for a man who gave so much of himself to others. Paul was an incredibly hard-working man who made countless sacrifices to provide for his family. He asked for little and gave everything - always putting others before himself with quiet strength and unwavering love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Paul’s memory - a cause that is deeply meaningful to us and has greatly impacted our family.
Rest in peace, Paul. Your legacy lives on in all of us - in every laugh, every story, and every moment we hold each other close.
