Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Paul Schou, who passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 76. Paul was born on January 12, 1950, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Cecelia Clara Annette Schou and Kjeld (Carl) Kehlet Schou.

Paul was a man whose life was rooted in love, dedication to his family, and quiet strength. He devoted his life to making sure that his wife and children were always cared for and happy. His presence brought comfort, reassurance, and strength to those he loved.

Some of the most cherished memories he created were the simple ones: making weekend breakfasts for his family (his favorite being homemade French toast with eggs and bacon), wandering the aisles of grocery stores to find the best snacks to bring home after a long day at work, Friday night fish fries (courtesy of his latest catch), and movie nights with his family on the biggest television he could find, complete with a wall-shaking surround sound system. He was a simple, loving, and present father and husband. He exemplified great strength in many areas of his life, and even when faced with challenges, he always found a way to overcome them for the well-being of his children.

He worked for many years as a salesman, where he connected with people through conversation and purpose. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.

Outside of work and family, his favorite hobby was fishing—a place where he could slow down, enjoy nature, reflect, and simply be. You could often find him unloading his fishing bucket full of crappies or bluegills, bringing them home for his wife, Linda, to clean and fry. Even in the winter, you would find him out on the ice with his pole.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Cecelia Clara Annette Schou and Kjeld (Carl) Kehlet Schou, and his three brothers, Erik, Richard, and Frederick. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Schou; his children, whom he loved dearly, Shira Schou, Kjeld Schou, and stepson Kenya Hodge; his siblings, Carla Greenberg, Christina Becker, Christian Schou, Kjeld Schou, and Bert Schou; his four grandchildren, Aaliyah Schou, Jayden Thomas, Bryce Thomas, and Zuri Schou; and his nieces and nephews.

A father’s love is gentle, kind, and ever-present. His was a steady and comforting presence, and though he is no longer here, that love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family for all their days. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
