Patricia "Patty" M. Twardowski

Patricia “Patty” M. Twardowski passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20th, at St. Peter’s Hospital at 73 years of age. Patty was born in Albany on November 13th, 1952, to James and Helen Horan.

Patty was married to her husband John for 51 long and loving years. While they met on a blind date arranged by friends, the love they built was deep and enduring. Patty was a woman whose dedication as a wife and mother was defined by her sweet and humble nature. Patty is survived by three wonderful siblings, her sister Kathy, brothers Dan and Michael, as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Patty is also survived by her children, Patty Ann, Michelle, John and his wife Kat, James and his soul mate Gretchen. The life and love given and shared by Patty will persevere long into the future. She asked little; she gave all.

Patty loved music and could recall and play songs from decades past, breathing life into once forgotten tunes. She could listen to a song once and perform the melody with her unique and entertaining musical abilities. Patty loved to dance and dress up, bringing joy and laughter to her loved ones. Patty’s infectious laughter made everyone around her bubble with joy. She adored family vacations to Lake George and Lake Vanare, playing mini-golf, lounging in her favorite cabins, and going for boat rides on quiet evenings on the lake. Patty’s sharp intellect was obvious to all who knew her; she often shared long forgotten memories and stories to the surprise and delight of friends and family.

Patty and the family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and staff of St. Peter’s Health Partners for their compassion and professional care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday September 25, 2026 from 9 to 11 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her service following at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
