Patricia “Patty” Baldwin‑Derocher, 64, of Berne, NY, passed away on June 14, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Patty retired from Stewart’s Shops after ten years of dedicated service. During her time there, she formed many cherished friendships and loved sharing the humorous stories that came from her coworkers and the customers who brightened her days. Before Stewart’s, Patty spent thirty years with MetLife Auto & Home as a Claims Representative, where she was known for her commitment to helping others and her active role in assisting with fraud claims.
Outside of work, Patty’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She treasured summers camping at Thompson’s Lake, a tradition rooted in her childhood with her parents and siblings. Patty also loved riding on the back of her husband’s Harley, traveling through different states and taking in the scenery they discovered together. For a time, she even owned her own Harley, which she proudly managed to hold up on her own.
Patty enjoyed trips to the casino with her sisters—something she was grateful to have done just a couple of weeks ago, complete with her favorite Bloody Mary. She and her husband also shared a love of boating and could often be found exploring the Hudson River together.
Patty is predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonard D. “Butch” Derocher; her parents, Joseph “Skeeter” and Shirley Baldwin of Voorheesville; and her brother, Joseph Baldwin of Selkirk.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter Kearah Derocher of Berne, and son Leonard (Crystal) Derocher of Georgia. She leaves behind her adored grandchildren—Kaiden, Rylee, Harley Derocher, and Christopher Kenific—who brought her endless pride and happiness. Patty is also survived by her devoted sisters: Penny (Ken) Blodgett of Myrtle Beach; Barbara Mosher (Dave Micheli) of Voorheesville; and JoAnn (Mike) Henges of Selkirk. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews—Kenny, Dawn, Joe, Crystal, Rick, John, and Savannah—as well as her cousins and many friends.
In keeping with Patty’s wishes, a private burial will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
