Patricia M. Ekstrom

Colonie- Patricia M. Ekstrom, 60, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born on November 1, 1956 in Albany, NY Patty was the daughter of the late Clyde and Eleanor (Everett) Ekstrom. Patty was a CNA for over 37 years at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany. Patty enjoyed crocheting and was well known for her baked goods, especially her Christmas cookies. She was a selfless and loving mother and grandmother. The light of her life were her two grandchildren. She loved her family deeply and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Patty is survived by her son, Bruce Maikels; her precious grandchildren: Lilliana and Harrison Maikels; her siblings: Dorothy (George) Burt and Clyde (Joanne)Ekstrom, Jr.; her niece and nephews: Joseph Schittone, Nate and Christine Ekstrom and her beloved dog Chico.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, August 3 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am on Friday, August 4 at The Church of St. Clare, Colonie. Burial will follow at Keyser Kill Cemetery, Middleburgh, NY.
