Albany — Ossie “Lee” Jones passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, after bravely battling multiple terminal illnesses. Born on November 3, 1950, in Nash County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Queen Ella Wilkerson and Arthur Jones.
Lee moved to Brooklyn, New York as a teenager with his family, and it was there that he met the love of his life, Linetta. They married in July of 1972 and enjoyed 53 wonderful years together, building a home filled with loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
A true provider and one of the hardest-working men anyone could know, Lee spent his life in a wide range of roles, including manager, cook, waiter, custodian, and mechanic. He was also an avid fisherman who found peace on the water and joy in the simple, steady work of his hands & attending services at Royal Light Church of Deliverance. His work ethic, humility, and commitment to God & his family defined him.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings Willistine, Betty, and Helen.
Lee is survived by his beloved wife Linetta Jones and their children: Lisa (Frank) Bellido, Latasha (Quinn) Mair, Shawn (Miriam) Jones, Vaughn (Chanel) Jones. Seven grandchildren: Quynden, Donovan, Jaylen, Mia, Praise, Reign, and Arielle. Sisters Geraldine, Faye, and Linda. Brothers June, David, Barney, Tommy. A host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him deeply.
Lee will be remembered for his kindness, strength, humility, and the profound love he carried for his family. His legacy lives on in every life he touched.
