COLONIE – Anna (Nina) Hoyt, age 89, entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2026.
Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Benvenuto and Rose Ciampi. She was also predeceased by her husband of forty-nine years, Charles D. Hoyt, her son Harrison Hoyt, a sister Antionette Pettigrasso, and two brothers Fred Ciampi and Albert Ciampi.
Nina is survived by her son Charles D. Hoyt, Jr. (Linda), her grandchildren Matthew Hoyt (Georga), Lauren Hoyt, Lindsey Kotecki (Chris), and her Great-grandchildren Christopher Kotecki, Jr. and Alyssa Kotecki.
Nina was a homemaker and worked Part-time as a Credit Analyst at Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Colonie.
She enjoyed first and foremost the making of wonderful memories with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nina always supported her entire family whether it be at their sporting events, dance recitals, cheerleading competitions or school productions.
A devout Catholic and member of Christ Our Light parish, she spent numerous hours with her friends from church playing games, going to lunch, or working on the activity committees at church. Nina was a member of the Red Hats and could be found going shopping with her dear friends Gloria or Paula, or her sister-in-law Jackie.
Her favorite activities included gardening and grooming at her home on Marie Parkway where you could always find her with dirt under her fingernails and a hose in her hand; and on Saturdays, visiting and enjoying a meal with Karen and Michael Miller.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 9am to 10:30am at Christ Our Light Roman Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loundonville, NY 12211. All are invited to attend her funeral mass to follow at the church.
Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2150 Central Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12304.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Center for Disability Services, 314 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to Nina’s neighbor and friend Mardi, who helped her through her last few years while she continued to live on her own at her apartment at the Colonie Towers.
