TROY – Nicholas Giavanni Holman, 22, passed away on August 30, 2017. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Heidi Holman (Robert Lopez). Nicholas was a 2013 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and a 2017 graduate of Marist College where he earned a paralegal certificate and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. His dream was to become a lawyer.
Nicholas had an intense passion for life. This included an enormous appreciation for live theatre. He particularly enjoyed the five summers he spent working with Park Playhouse, Inc. One of Nicholas' other great loves was the ocean. Whether it was a vacation at Marconi Beach in Cape Cod or Hampton Beach, N.H., Nicholas always cherished spending time with his family. He especially adored long walks on the beach, day or night, breathing in the fresh sea air. Nicholas also loved spending time with friends over a tasty craft beer and was never one to shy away from a spirited political debate. Nicholas was a sports aficionado, liked to play video games and had very diverse musical tastes. Most importantly, Nicholas had a deep, abiding faith in God.
In addition to his mother, Nicholas is survived by his step-father, James Connors, brother, Lee Seney, sisters, Amanda Connors and Gabriella Lopez, loving grandparents, Ronald Holman, Betsy and Chuck Seney, as well as many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Nicholas was an amazing young man with a huge heart and an abounding love for his family. He was passionate, tenacious, and fiercely loyal. To know him, was indeed to love him. He possessed a sharp, biting wit and an irreverent sense of humor. Nicholas' flair for fine clothes and for being well-dressed made his fashion sense legendary amongst family and friends. He was full of life and promise. Nicholas was truly one of a kind. The impact he made, in the lives of those who were blessed to know and love him, is indelible. Only one will have had the gift to call him her son.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by Park Playhouse, Inc. in support of their youth arts programming. Donations may be sent in Nicholas' memory to 19 Clinton Avenue, Albany, N.Y. 12207.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 12:00pm-3:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A memorial service will follow starting at 3:00pm at the funeral home.
