Nelson A. Parker

Nelson A. Parker, 83, husband to Kathy Parker, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025.

In his earlier life, Nelson served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. Nelson held a position with the Watervliet Arsenal for over 25 years, eventually retiring. He was active in Guilderland Firehouse, holding many positions including past fire chief. After retirement, he drove school buses from Guilderland School District.

Nelson is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Parker, children: Nelson (Fred) Parker, Tammy (Janet) Parker, and Amanda Parker. His one granddaughter, who inherited his love for the Giants, Elena Nino. As well as his other granddaughter, Laila Nino, who inherited his love for snow.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Frances Parker and two sisters: Rose and Betty. Nelson was greeted in heaven that day by their dog, Jodi.

At the request of the family, there will be no services held. Nelson’s family will be spreading his ashes in the Spring in the Adirondacks.
