Natalya Danielle Chajon, born on December 19, 2007, in Albany, NY was sent to her eternal home on October 16, 2025. She was the beloved twin sister to Miguel Chajon, with whom she shared a special and unbreakable bond and daughter to Shirrie (Lumpkin) and Eddi Chajon.
Natalya was a shining light in the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her short journey on this earth was marked by love and compassion. Natalya’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the challenges she faced, but for the profound impact her life had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Natalya faced the world with courage and resilience living with both autism and epilepsy. These challenges shaped parts of her journey but never defined her. She taught those around her the true meaning of patience, unconditional love. To know Natalya was to know that everyday was her birthday. Her joy was found in the simple but magical things: stickers, unicorns, tiaras and Go Noodle. She reminded everyone around her to celebrate life, to find the beauty in little moments and to love without reservation.
She started her education at Albany School of Humanities then continued her education at Wildwood School for junior and high school.
Natalya was deeply cherished by her family, especially her mother and father, who dedicated their lives to ensuring Natalya had every opportunity to thrive. Their love was fierce, nurturing and unwavering. Her twin brother Miguel was not only her sibling but her protector, best friend and biggest cheerleader; even when she blamed everything on him. Their bond was something truly rare, a connection that brought out the very best in both of them.
Natalya is survived by her parents Shirrie and Eddi. Her twin brother Miguel. Her Maternal Great Grandparents Katherine & James Ross, Paternal grandmother Maria Chajon, and special Grandmother Annette Gaillard. Her Great Uncles Willie Ross, David Lumpkin Jr., Sylvester (Duke) Lumpkin, Pernell (Yolanda) Ross, Uncles Carlos, Angel (Lisa), Waldemar (Kendra), and Willie (Jisele) Chajon. Her Great Aunts Carolyn Ross, Doretha Tolliver, Jarita (Lance) Ray, Cynthia, Yvonne and Yolonda Ross, Tenisia (Jerome) Taylor, Aunts Jeneva Ross, Maritza (Victor) Cedeno, Vicki Lewis and Jillian Rogers. Her God Parents LaQuanda Mott, Kimberly, Tonja, and Tyrome Jordan. God brothers Lateek & Lorenz Ray, Sha’Mere Bailey, Reshon & Rikai Roberson. God sisters Ziona and ZaKyrah Mack. Her village Dwayne Tolliver, Kelly Robinson, Nina Griffin, Lucretia Bailey, Kalesha Eason, Sa’Rhea Ross, Da’Quan Gordon, and Yameena Anderson and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Evelyn (Lightsey) Thompson, Phyllis Thompson, Walter and Frances (Lumpkin) Ross, and Miguel Chajon.
Natalya’s life, though brief, was filled with meaning. Her presence brought joy, her smile healed hearts and her love was a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her journey was not easy, but it was powerful. Through her, we learned to love more deeply, how to be more compassionate, and how to see beauty in the world through the eyes of a child who never stopped dreaming. We honor Natalya not just for who she was, but for all the love she gave and all the love she received. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in every unicorn, every sticker, every tiara and every smile that crosses our faces.
Rest peacefully, sweet Natalya. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
