Nancy L. Davis, beloved mother to three adult children, 79, of Albany, NY, passed away on January 1, 2026, at home from natural causes in Palm Bay, FL where she resided since 2022, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Albany. Nancy graduated from Colonie Central High School. Shortly after graduating, she started her small family. In her younger days, she worked at a nursing
home, she cleaned offices and after her children were older, Nancy landed a temporary job working for New York State during tax season, she eventually was hired on a permanent, fulltime position working for the NYS Department of Taxation & Finance for several years until she retired.
Nancy was a devoted mother; her three girls were her pride and joy (The Kennedy Girls). She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided. Their family may be small, but it is mighty.
Nancy took special joy in parenthood and had fond memories of traveling to Riverside Amusement Park in Pennsylvania although they got lost on the way home, having family reunions up at Lake Nancy at her family's campsite in the summers, and Christmas parties at another family members house. Nancy and her friends would take the bus out to The Altamont Fairgrounds every summer for their annual trip to the fair, where Nancy would spend most of her time at the "I Got It" game to win prizes to bring home. She volunteered at a bingo hall and played bingo. In her retirement, she loved working on her puzzle books, she loved to watch her stories (Young & Restless and Guiding Light) and some old shows, like Bonanza, Golden Girls, The Little House on the Prairie, etc. but her most favorite pastime was keeping track of birthdays for everyone she knew (and death dates), even for some of her favorite celebrities, like Elvis (her mother and Elvis shared the same birthday).
Nancy is reunited in heaven with her beloved cat, Casper.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah in 1959 and her
father, Ernest in 1964, and is survived by her three loving daughters, Michelle P. Proctor (Leonard), NY, Melinda L. Sadiki, NY and Kellie M. Randio (Gerald), FL, her five grandchildren, Alan R. (Breanna), FL, Carson J. II (Kathleen), NY, Aicha M., Aaron K., IL, Jesse A., FL, her two step-grandchildren, Elmanuel, NY, Jason, FL and her precious great-grandson, Carson J. III, NY, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives. She is also survived by some distant cousins and several friends that were close to her.
The grandkids will always remember going to grandma's house to watch Disney movies and eating treats like Oreo cookies. Her daughters will always remember taking sips of her Pepsi when they were young, but sometimes it tasted awful... why you ask, because she would put rum in it, so that we wouldn't drink it.
