Albany- Nancy Clancy Duncan, 79, passed away on December 11, 2015 after a brief illness with her family by her side at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, Albany.
The daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Dugan) Haggerty, she was born on September 4, 1936 in Albany, NY. Nancy was a lifelong area resident and worked for most of her life as a waitress. She was employed for Gateway Diner and Inga's Diner both in Albany.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Nancy was an animal lover her whole life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Edward J. Duncan; her children: J. Edward (Holly) Clancy, Joseph Clancy, Kimberly A. Clancy and Lisa Clancy; her loving grandchildren: Duncan, Anthony and Ariel; her siblings: Joan (James) Girvin, Margaret Zink, Charlotte Bartolomeo, Barbara Lynch, John (Bonnie) Haggerty; her in-laws: Joan Haggerty, James (Matilda) Duncan, Peggy (Jack) Rockminski, Harry (Carol) Duncan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents Nancy was predeceased by her brother Robert Haggerty; her sister-in-law Anna Duncan, brothers-in-law Howard "Bucky" Zink, Nicholas Bartolomeo, David and Bernie Duncan; her best friend Lillian Goetal.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, December 15 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, December 16 at St. Mary's Church, 10 Lodge St, Albany. Burial will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Albany, NY 12204.
