Schenectady- Monica (MacFee) Guynup slipped from this world on Nov. 22 surrounded by family. Born in Schenectady to the late Eldon and Ruth (Kernaghan) MacFee of Scotia, "Mon" lost a hard fought battle with cancer, but lived with zeal and kindness.
Monica is predeceased by husband Ronald Guynup, brother Scott, and step-daughter Rose.
She is survived by her sons, Justin MacFee and Jason Guynup; daughters-in-law Nikki and Amanda; sisters, Diane Whitaker and Beth Ortstadt; grandchildren, Anthony, Kailey, Carmella, and Jason, Jr.; in-laws, Kenny, Dawn and Jimmy, Pam and Wayne, and Joanne and Joe. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous close friends touched by Monica's warmth and love.
Monica was a sweet yet bold woman who loved her family very much. She had a dry, wry humor and an infectious laugh that brought a smile to everyone having the privilege of knowing her. Monica enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her family, and friends. She was also a proud member of Faith Baptist Church in Rexford, NY.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov 27, 2016 from 1pm-3pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Rexford, NY.
