Mona L. Bumpers

Mona L. Bumpers, 60, wife of Wendell “Petey” Bumpers, passed away on August 26, 2026, at her home. 

Born December 7, 1965, in Albany, New York, she was the daughter of the late Deloris Ayers Liuzzi and Kevin Liuizzi.

Mona was a graduate of Bishop Maginn High School and Hudson Valley Community College’s dental hygiene program. She spent over three decades working as a dental hygienist. 

Later in life she developed a passion for fitness and after earning her personal training certification worked as a small group trainer. She was an avid fan of the WNBA and UConn Women’s Basketball and loved spending summers in Wildwood, New Jersey with her family. 

Mona is survived by her loving husband Petey; son Wendell “PJ” (Corey) of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Jasmine (Brian) of Loudonville; father Kevin of Colonie; granddaughters Henrietta and Evangeline of San Antonio; and several other family members and friends.

She is predeceased by her mother, Deloris.

Calling hours will be held from 10:00 am-12:00pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, 26 Wilson Avenue, Albany, NY on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady, NY.
