Moises Velez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Moises Velez, who left this life on August 19th, 2025 in Schenectady, NY at the age of 52. Born on September 19, 1972 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Luz Delia Velez and Angel Beltran.

Moises was a devoted & loving father to his children starting with his eldest Kevin (Chelsea) Velez & daughters Olyvia (Kayshon) Velez, Rosslin (Haley) Velez, Caramela (Virgilia) Velez,, Bonus daughters Julia & Esmerida (Nena) Velazquez. He was known for his kindness, strength, and was deeply admired for his work ethic, unwavering support for his family and others, If we’re being honest Our Dad was the jack of all trades!

In his free time, our Father found joy in spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren, cooking some of the most amazing foods especially of the Puerto Rican cuisine (if you know you know!), antiquing, watching his movies, playing his video games and need I not mention again spending quality time with his kids and grandchildren.

Our beloved father believed deeply in the importance of family & doing what is right, even if this meant going against his own beliefs.

Moises is survived by his longtime companion Elvira Velazquez, his children Kevin, Olyvia, Rosslin, Caramela, Julia, Nena and his grandchildren Sanniyah, Kayshon Jr, Damoni, Jaybian, Leticia, Meiya, Eva, Jayden, Jonah, and Gianni. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
