Listen to Obituary

Miriam “Mimi” Jean Finnegan, 75, wife of Vincent Finnegan of Latham, NY fell asleep in death peacefully on September 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and five children. She is now awaiting the resurrection.

Mimi was born to Richard and Dorothy Pyles on February 17, 1950 in Ironton, OH. She grew up in Ohio, North Carolina, and Virginia. In 1968 she graduated from Douglass Freeman High School in Henrico, VA. In 1972 she graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She joined the Way Ministry in 1969 and graduated from the third Way Corps in 1974 and married Vincethe next day. She was a full-time mother to five children born between 1976 and 1986. She sacrificed everything to serve God and her husband and her children. She and Vince moved to New York in 1984 where they pastored a network of home fellowships that became Living Hope Community Church in 1999.

She served the ministry faithfully for decades through coordinating a home fellowship and a girls’ fellowship, running the children’s nursery, planning events, and proofreading. She was a loving wife and mother. As much as she loved her family, she loved God even more. Her strong faith in the hope of Christ’s return to resurrect the faithful served as the anchor of her soul even through the last hours and minutes of life. Throughout her five-year battle with cancer, she continued toexude the joy of the LORD, Yahweh. She blessed everyone she encountered with kindness, love, and smiles.

Mimi was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Dorothy, and her sister, Sandra. She is survived by her husband, Vince, her children, David, Sean (Ruth), Michael (Jasara), Joelle (Russell), and Grace, as well as her siblings Ronald, Janie, and Richard. Additionally, her grandchildren include Noah, Micah, Daniel, Zoe, Wesley, Aiden, Hosanna, Isaiah, Luke, Ezra, Elijah, Timothy, and Titus.

Her memorial service will be at Living Hope Community Church (458 Old Niskayuna Road, Latham, NY) on Friday, September 19th at 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Living Hope. https://lhim.org/giving/
