Minnie Sarbello, 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at St. Peter's Hospital battling complications from pneumonia.
For the last 4 years she resided at Atria Guilderland, but spent most of her life on Long Island and Brooklyn. She was born December 2, 1925 in Brooklyn to Donato and Minnie Sileo, the third of their 7 children.
Her father died when she was very young, and the remaining family developed strong ties and devotion that survived the Depression and lasted a lifetime. She was married to Salvatore Sarbello for 38 years until his death; Minnie died on what would have been their 70th wedding anniversary. She was a homemaker and devoted mother.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Carolyn Sarbello, sisters Pearl Polizzano and Lucille Mattera, sister-in-law Patricia Sileo, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother Nicholas Sileo and sisters Mildred Amarante, Fanny Filatro, and Jean Juliano.
She will be interred at Saint Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY at a later date to be determined.
