Midford M. Broadwell passed away peacefully January 24th in Albany, NY. Mid was born August 11, 1925 in Little Rock, Arkansas and grew up in Marietta, Georgia. He served in the United States Army during World War II and continued with the Army Reserve attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. He graduated from the University of Georgia, Athens where he met his wife of 67 years, Lorain Broadwell. They moved to Rochester, NY, where the family made their home, and worked for Eastman Kodak for 31 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, reading, and was an enthusiastic member of his church, Brighton Presbyterian in Rochester, NY.
He is survived by his son Chris Broadwell (Heather MacLeod), daughter Teresa Broadwell (Mike Novakowski), sister Dorothy Broadwell Letson, sister-in-law Margie Barnett, brother-in-law Lee Barnett (Wanda), five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Lorain Barnett Broadwell, son, Bill Broadwell, sister, Irene Broadwell Harper, brother-in-law Bill Barnett, and sister-in-law Henrietta Barnett.
A celebration of his life will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY, 14609 on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 1:00 pm. The family welcomes public from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service. The burial will take place at the Irondequoit Cemetery, 3671 Culver Rd, Irondequoit, NY 14622, following services.
