Listen to Obituary

Michael A. Urban, 36, Albany NY, departed peacefully to begin his journey of eternal life with the Lord on January 29th, 2026 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Michael was joyfully brought into this world by his adoring mother Deborah Urban and welcomed by his father Chris Urban alongside her on September 29th, 1989 in Albany, NY.

Michael was an artist. He attended Votech and graduated from Hudson Valley Community college with a specialty in bodywork and pinstriping. His technique was a talent well respected by the autobody community and brought him so much delight and gratification. He would spend hours in the garage from early childhood, working with his dad restoring their Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The garage at The Concourse was his happy place. There was little he loved more than honing his skills, but being a brother, uncle, cousin, and friend was truly what he did best. These duties brought more joy to his heart than any tool he held in his hand ever could have. Mike loved to day dream and reminisce about weekends at the camp, Urbeckski family vacations, and sitting around the kitchen table of his childhood home with his neighbors and siblings. He found peace in fishing, freedom on his motorcycle, and happiness dancing with his mom.

Mikey will be remembered for the adoration he had for his sisters, the unconditional love he bestowed upon his nieces and nephews, and the havoc he wreaked with the neighborhood kids. He was known for the generosity and compassion he had for both friends and strangers alike. He was the love of his Aunt Suzie’s life, and the smile he put on his mothers face lit up any room they were both in - they were best friends.

To live in their memory, Michael is survived by his parents, Deborah (Peplowski) and William Christopher Urban; grandfather, William Urban; brother, Christopher Urban (Lisa); sisters, Rebecca (Ted Cost) Urban and Chelsea (Bryan Potter) Urban; aunt, Suzanne Peplowski; uncles, Chuck Peplowski and Stephen (Sheila) Urban, aunt, Maryanne Urban; nephews, Thomas Urban, William Urban, and Llewelyn Cost; nieces, Isabella Urban, Gracelynn Garrow, and Charlie Garrow; as well as his sweet puppy, Lulu. He leaves behind many cousins and friends he considers family.

He has been welcomed into heaven by his grandpa Charlie and grandmother Louise Peplowski, grandmother Joyce Urban, his cherished dog Layla, his brother Edward Person, cousin Tyler Heiserman, and many other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
