Michael J. Java, Jr. , 73, of Guilderland, formerly of Albany, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home.
Born in Albany, Michael was the son of the late Michael Java and Alice (Murray) Java.
Michael was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany where he played basketball and Fordham University where he was a member of the golf team. He carried these interests into his retirement and participated in leagues and charitable events.
Michael was employed by the State of New York in the Dept. of Labor in Albany, where he retired from.
Loving brother of Barbara Anne (the late Edward) Carney, dearest uncle of Catherine Horner, Thomas Carney, Patricia Carney, Edward Carney, Jr., and Michael Carney. Several grand nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie,on Sunday January 14, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Interment with military honors will take place on Monday, January 15th at 9 am in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
