Michael W. Guettler, 65, husband of Marcia A. Guettler of Colonie, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, New York after living with Alzheimer's for more than a decade.

Born February 1,1961, in Granville, New York, he was the son of the late Constance Guettler (Getgen) and Harold Guettler.

Michael attended Colonie Central High School, and went on to become a Journeyman Electrician and was part of IBEW 236. After more than two decades of being a Journeyman he went on to work for Simplex where he worked his way up to be a Programmer for Fire Alarm and Security systems. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and kayaking in the Adirondacks. He was also an avid New York Giants and Yankees fan and indoctrinated the entire family as fans. He spent many years on the sidelines coaching and watching his sons play baseball and basketball.

In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his son Christopher.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia; sons, Jason and Craig (Amanda); Granddaughters, Abigail, Arya, Madelene and Emma; sister, Kim Sigond (Paul); and niece, Laura.

The family would like to express their thank you to Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, especially the staff of the Guadalupe Wing for all their compassion and care.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
