Michael Decker

Schenectady- Michael G. Decker, 76, passed away on October 9, 2026, at Ellis Hospital.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Decker; his son, Gregory (Sharon) Decker; and his two grandchildren, Nicole and Jacob Decker. He is also survived by his sister, Pamela (Robert) Mogensen; his niece, Kelsey Mogensen; and his nephew, Matthew Mogensen.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Percella Decker, and his brother, Timothy Decker.

Michael dedicated 27 years to education, teaching industrial arts at Mount Pleasant and Schenectady High School. Through his years in the classroom, he shared his knowledge and skills with generations of students.

He will be remembered by his family, friends, former colleagues, and the many students whose lives he touched throughout his teaching career.

Calling hours 4-6, followed by 6:00pm Celebration of life will be held Thursday October 22, 2026 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Road Colonie, NY 12205.
