Michael Cherico, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 with his loving family by his side.

Michael was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to the late Pat and Blanche Cherico. He was the devoted husband of over 57 years, to the late Peggy Cherico.

Michael proudly served with the United States Coast Guard. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption, Latham and previously with Immaculate Conception in Glenville. He was actively involved with the Knights of Columbus in Glenville.

He worked for Levi Strauss and Company as a Sales Manager for their North Eastern Division for over three decades, until his retirement in 1997.

After retirement, he enjoyed working along side Peggy at the Saratoga Race Track, but his greatest achievement was his family.

Michael was an avid baseball fan, "Go Mets", he loved watching NCIS and correctly answering all the questions on Jeopardy. He loved spending time in Maine and Cape Cod with his family and friends. Mike loved traveling with Peggy along the East Coast. He was an amazing cook and passed on his love of cooking to his grandsons. His quick wit and sarcasm was his love language, and he loved his family with everything he had.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Chris (Rob) Johnson and Alyssa (Mark) Stagliano. He was the proud grandfather of Riley, Braeden and Griffin Johnson and Ellie, Brennan and Parker Stagliano and his beloved grand-dogs, Blondie and Luke.
