Glenville - Maurice F. Geer, Jr, 86, reunited with the love of his life on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 9, 1932 in Pittsfield, MA, a son of the late Maurice Geer and the late Loretta (step-father, Alex) Duda. Maurice was a proud veteran of the NY Army National Guard, serving three different terms, 1950-1953, 1953-1956 and 1981-1987.
Maurice was a man of many different trades, wearing many different hats; in 1987, he retired as a truck driver from NYS Dept. of Health. He spent most of his time watching horse races and going to the OTB; he loved to cook and was always telling stories. Most of all, he was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His beloved wife, Theresa R. Geer, predeceases Maurice; it was a loving union of 60 years until her passing in 2016. He is survived by his children, Joseph (Mary), Maurice, Thomas (Barbara), Carol (Fred) MacDonald, Anthony (Michele) and Loretta (James) Walker; siblings, Ellen Vita, Robert Geer, Patty Burkhard, Alex Duda and Kathy Duda;15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephew and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother, Walter Geer and sister, Judy Geer
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 4pm until 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10am. Burial will be follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
