Mason Ruggaber

Mason Anthony Ruggaber, 19, of Delmar, tragically passed away on Monday April 27, 2026, doing what he loves most, riding his motorcycle through Glenmont.

Born December 12, 2006, in Niskayuna, New York, he is the son of Anthony E. Ruggaber and Kristina M. Asmus.

Mason started playing football for Pop Warner when he was 5 on South Colonie and Bethlehem teams, where he earned the nickname "Jet". Along with his love for football, his childhood was filled with many other sports. He stayed busy with his friends, riding bicycles around town, snowboarding every winter, playing dress up with his older sister, and trail riding on his dirt bike.

He graduated from Bethlehem Central High School June 2025, and quickly began his career as a pipefitter for the UA Local # 7 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, working for Eckert Mechanical.

He spent his free time at camp on Sacandaga Lake, taking spur-of-the-moment weekend trips, and riding his motorcycle with friends. He is a loving son, brother, and friend. His absolute willingness to help others, infectious personality, and goofy smile will be missed dearly.

Mason is survived by his parents: Anthony (Megan) Ruggaber and Kristina M. Asmus; his older sister: Madison Asmus; his grandparents: Kristine Ruggaber and Michele (Kirk) Hulbert; his uncles: Michael Ruggaber and Kip Asmus Jr.; his aunts: Robyn (Peter) Steckel and Karin Asmus and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 6 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 7 at The Church of St. Clare, Colonie. Burial will follow at Our Lady Angels

A reception will take place following the burial at Cook Park, Shambrook Pkwy in Colonie.
