, Mary R. Villano, 83, of Latham, wife of the late James V. Villano, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Born and raised in Troy, New York she attended Troy City Schools and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1960. Following her education, she was a stay-at-home Mom and later worked for the State of New York, most recently with the NYS Department of Retirement.

Mary enjoyed shopping for the latest fashion and her glistening presence lit up the room. Mary also volunteered at a local nursing home. Most of all, she will be remembered for her generous heart and her unconditional love for her sons.

In addition to her husband of 23 years, James V. Villano, she was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Josephine DeFazio.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Vincent (Joanne) Villano and Marcus (Tara) Villano. As well as her siblings, Joseph (Kate) DeFazio, Rocco (Janice) DeFazio, and Anthony (Maura) DeFazio. She is also survived by her grandson, Anthony Villano. As well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She will be missed dearly by her two lifelong friends, Edie and Pam.

Per the request of the family, services will be held privately. Entombment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The Community Hospice.
