Mary Ethel Smalls

Ethel Smalls was born in Georgetown, South Carolina to the late Hannah and David Robinson. Ethel was one of seven children. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Daisy Knox, Mary Grate, David, Richard, Lincoln & Paul Robinson. Ethel was also preceded in death by her son Benjamin Smalls.

Ethel worked for the New York State Department of General Services and retired after 20+ years.

Ethel enjoyed playing games such as spades, bingo, and pokeno. Her favorite of the three was playing spades on any given day/night. She was very outspoken and loved to get you to smile. She herself had a smile that could brighten up any room.

On November 3rd the death angel came to take Ethel home to be with the Lord. She leaves to mourn her death special nieces Doris Simmons, Cynthia Miller, Christina Grate, Gladys and Lorretta Robinson, Alkeisha Fairley, and Jeanette Robinson, and special nephews Jeffrey, Robert and Gregory Miller, Hebert Robinson, and Richard Robinson, and a host of other nieces, nephews and family members.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 9, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service honoring Ethel's life will begin at 12:00pm. Interment will be held following the service at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave, Albany, NY 12209.
