Mary G. Prunier

Mary G. Prunier, 55, of Albany, NY, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 13, 2017 while surrounded by her loving family. Mary was the daughter of the late John and Marjorie Casale, and the wife of 30 years to Kenneth J. Prunier. Along with her beloved husband, Mary will forever be missed by her children, Kenneth M. Prunier and his wife Sarah Prunier, James M. Prunier along with his long time girlfriend Sophia Ilardo, and Michelle G. Prunier.
Mary is also survived by her loving siblings, Becky Barone, Carol Albers, Barbara Schovon, Catherine (Casale) Miranda, John Casale, Michael Casale, as well as numerous close friends. Mary enjoyed spending time with her lifelong friends on Long Island where she grew up. Specifically, Mary enjoyed spending time with her childhood friend Colleen McGrath whom she treasured as a close friend.

Mary also especially enjoyed spending time on the beach and simply enjoying the company of family and friends. Mary was an avid traveler. She enjoyed the new experiences traveling provided as well as the added opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. She especially enjoy her time spent relaxing on the beach, particularly at Davis Park. Mary was also a devoted supporter of the arts. She enjoyed traveling to New York City and attending numerous Broadway shows. Another favorite pastime of hers was attending Jazz festivals, particularly in New Orleans.
Mary graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Long Island University where she studied Criminal Justice. With the knowledge she gained from her degree, she began working for the New York State Department of Corrections where she continued to work for 21 years.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Wednesday, January 18th, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany, at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 19th, 2017, with the burial to follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
