Mary McLaughlin (née Wolson) died peacefully on February 19, 2018 in Slingerlands, NY at the age of 94.
Mary is survived by her children, Valerie Arthurton of Webster, NY; Cathy (Don) Carberry of Holtsville, NY and Thomas (Cindy) McLaughlin of East Greenbush, NY; grandchildren, Kevin (Jeanne) Carberry; Wayne (Julie) Arthurton; Kelly (Jonas) Riccitelli; Ryan (Heather) Arthurton; Daniel (Alyson) Carberry; Jessica (James) Sweeney; Lindsay (Kyle) Czora; John (Corinne Hurkala) great grandchildren Abby Carberry, Morgan Carberry, Tyler Carberry, James Sweeney, Catie Carberry, Giuliana Riccitelli, Nico Riccitelli, Jackson Arthurton, Joseph Sweeney, Jack Czora and Conrad Czora. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Anna Wolson, husband Thomas O McLaughlin, brother Charlie Wolson, sister Ann Hollins and son-in-law Wayne Arthurton
Mary was born on June 4, 1923 in PA to Charles and Anna Wolson. She graduated from Glen Cove High School in 1940. She married Thomas O. McLaughlin in 1945. They resided and raised their children in Glen Head, NY. Mary and Tom retired to Greenacres, Florida until recently, when Mary moved to Albany, NY. Her children remember her as an independent woman who loved shopping, music, dancing and bowling. She was sole care giver for her husband during his illness until his death.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and compassion that the staff provided at the Eddy Village Green at Beverwyck located in Slingerlands, NY.
A funeral was held on February 24, 2018 at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady RD., Watervliet, NY.
