Mary T. Mastro

COLONIE- Mary T. Mastro, 94, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Home of the Good Shepherd Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Schenectady, NY on September 3, 1922, to the late Filippo and Restituta Tersigni. During WWII Mary worked at GE assembling and wiring radio transmitters. She was a true "Rosie the Riveter." Mary was a hard worker and she was employed her entire life, until her retirement in 1985. In 1946 Mary married the love of her life, Gene Mastro. They were married for 68 years. Together they had two children. Mary will be remembered for her love of quilting, and cooking. Her passion in life was her family. All of the family that she leaves behind will miss the great Christmas Eve feasts that she and Gene hosted. It's a tradition that her family still carries on.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Gene Mastro, her four siblings; Joseph, Angie, Lucy, and Michael.

Mary is survived by her children; Donna (Dick) Moran, and Bob (Anne) Mastro, her four grandchildren; Richard Moran, Gina (Melissa Zambri) Moran, Nathan (Nicole) Mastro, and Nicole (Mike) Jacobson, her seven great-grandchildren; Trevor, Alexander, Anthony, Sofia, Abby, Giavanna, and Lizzy, and a host nieces, nephews, in-laws, family, and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Clare's Catholic Church, 1947 Central Ave, Colonie, NY 12205, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 9:00am. Burial will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY.
