Mary T. Lomonoco (Holligan), 76, wife of the late Anthony V. Lomonoco of Niskayuna NY, passed away peacefully March 3, 2026 at St Peter’s Hospice Inn. In her final days, she was surrounded by the love of her family as she prepared for her journey to heaven. Her beloved daughter remained by her side, holding her hand as Mary peacefully gained her angel wings.
Born July 26, 1949, in Albany, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Marjorie (Walsh) Holligan.
Mary attended Cardinal McCloskey High School and later pursued vocational training in stenography. She went on to work as a U.S. Federal Court stenographer in Albany, New York, where she dedicated many years of service.
Mary was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, mother in law and friend who found great joy in caring for those she loved. She enjoyed gardening, cooking large meals for her family, celebrating holidays and birthdays, taking trips to the casino, bird watching, and traveling with family and friends. One of Mary’s favorite places to be was the beach, where she loved sitting with a cup of coffee and listening to the calming sound of the ocean waves.
Mary’s greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother. She was deeply involved in her grandchildren’s lives and cherished every moment spent with them. From special “Grammy overnights,” to Jeep concerts while waiting for the bus, family trips, and the countless hours she spent cheering from the sidelines at their soccer, basketball, and softball games, Mary was never happier than when she was with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband Anthony, she was predeceased by her brother Joseph (Joey).
Mary is survived by her daughter Christine Baumann (David- “her favorite and best son in law ever”) of Colonie, NY and her beloved grandchildren, Anthony D. Baumann and Gabrielle R. Baumann, Colonie NY.
