Mary Jane Winchester

Schenectady- Mary Jane Winchester, 68, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Bernice Renzi. Mary Jane is survived by her loving ex husband Joseph E. Winchester Jr. In addition to Joe Jr., she is survived by her son Joseph E. Winchester III (Kara), her three grandsons Joseph IV, Harrison and Jack Winchester, and her brother Steven (Leah) Renzi. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was a woman who knew how to enjoy the journey. She loved the beach, the warmth of the sun, and the feeling of sunshine on her face. Her love for flowers, nature, and color reflected a warm spirit and an appreciation for the beauty all around her. But some of her happiest adventures were the miles she traveled alongside Joe on their motorcycle.

Together, Mary Jane and Joe put more than 60,000 miles on the bike, traveling through the beautiful Adirondacks, Vermont, New Hampshire, and countless other destinations along the way. Each ride was more than simply a trip-it was another memory, another beautiful road, another place to discover together. She loved the freedom of being on the open road, the scenery passing by, and the feeling of knowing there was always another adventure ahead.

Mary Jane also appreciated the simple pleasures in life. She loved a good Bloody Mary-and she had a very important rule when it came to judging one: it all came down to the sip. One taste was all it took to know whether it was a winner!

A memory that will be held close among many members of the family, including Joe and Steven, are all the trips down to NYC to watch the Yankees play.

Whether she was feeling the sun on her face at the beach, enjoying a long motorcycle ride with Joe, taking in the beauty of the mountains, or savoring a perfectly made Bloody Mary, Mary Jane had a way of embracing life and making memories along the way.

Her love of adventure, sunshine, laughter, and the open road will always be remembered. And wherever the road leads, we can imagine Mary Jane riding along, sunshine on her face, enjoying the view-and taking that first sip to see if the Bloody Mary passes the test.
