Mary Gloria Miller

Mary “Gloria” Miller, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026.Born in Albany, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Francis and Mary Mariano. She shared 59 devoted years of marriage with her husband, Jerry Miller, who predeceased her. Together, their love story continues beyond this life, as they celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary reunited in heaven on Tuesday, April 21st.

Gloria was a proud graduate of Albany high school, where she was known for her spirited personality as a cheerleader. That same energy and enthusiasm carried throughout her life, especially in the simple joys she cherished—none more so than having her hair done each week, sipping on a Diet Pepsi, snacking on a Hersey bar and looking for sales at Macy’s. 

She was an avid reader and always immaculately dressed.

Above all else, Gloria’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She adored her children and spoke of them often with deep love and admiration. That pride only grew as she became a grandmother and great-grandmother, roles she embraced wholeheartedly. She never missed an opportunity to share stories, celebrate their accomplishments, and remind everyone just how much they meant to her. Family was, without question, the center of Gloria’s world.

Gloria is survived by her 5 children: Michael (Karen), John (Debi), Liz Grandjacquet (Paolo), Nancy Sunukjian (Alan) and her favorite, Tom; her 10 grandchildren: Christopher, Alex, Max, Mitchell, Cristina, Jessica, Sam, Mary, Michael and Jack, and her 5 great -grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Schuyler Ridge Residential for the compassion, love, and exceptional care shown to Gloria and her family. Their kindness brought comfort during a difficult time, and Gloria will always be remembered by those who knew and cared for her.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., with inurnment to follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.

Gloria’s legacy of love, devotion, and family will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany.
