Albany- Mary Magdalen Colello, passed away on January 16, 2026.
I was born on Tuesday, May 18, 1926, the first child of the late Rose Bologna Colello and John J. Colello, Sr. I graduated from Albany High School in 1944.
My survivors are my four sisters, Catherine Mapes (Robert, deceased 4-26-20, of Venice, CA); Adalynne Blowers (Le Roy) of West Sand Lakes; Sandra Gibson (Gerald) of Averill Park; Sharon Lawton (Donny) of Rennselaer.
I was predeceased by my dear sister, Gloria Legnard 4-18-95, and my dear brother, John Joseph Colello, Jr. 10-23-10.
I have, and had, many aunts, uncles, special nephews and special nieces, grand nephews and nieces, special cousins and Godchildren. many treasured friends who I enjoyed keeping in touch with throughout the years.
I was a secretary employed by the State of New York for 38 1/2 years, retiring in December 1981 from the State University Central Administration, partly Governor Rockefeller's office.
I pray I will be remembered for my boundless energy, enthusiasm, generous heart, good humor, common sense, and especially, much laughter. I remember reading, "Never regret a day in your life—good days give happiness—bad days give experience—worst days give lessons—and best days give memories." I often say I love every day of my life and thank God each day for his special gifts. God bless all of you. Contributions to any children or animal affiliation of your choice.
