Mary A. Burns

Albany- Mary A. Burns, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Grace Ryan. Mary was the devoted wife to the late John A. Burns, Jr., they were married 50 years.

Mary worked for 13 years at Montgomery Wards from 1951 to 1964. She went on to be a waitress at Friendly's from 1968 to 1985. Mary retired from the Albany VA Hospital after working there from 1988 to 1993.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her entire family. She had a special fondness for holidays. Mary loved spending time at the casino.

Mary was always able to make friends no matter where she went. She will be dearly missed by all those who she loved and who loved her.

Mary will be remembered for her heart of gold.

Mary is survived by her grandchildren, Heather and Michelle (Jimmy); her two great grandsons: Robbie and Anthony; and many friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her cherished son, John A. Burns, III; her brothers, George Ryan, Joseph Ryan, and Michael J. Ryan, Jr..

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Our Lady Of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave, Colonie, NY 12205
