Marsha Marie VanDusen – Albany
Marsha Marie VanDusen, 64, passed away on May 23, 2015. She was born on June 17, 1950 in Watertown, NY to Donald Marshall and Gladys Hope Gaumond VanDusen. Marsha was a 1968 graduate of Watertown High School.
She is survived by her sisters Judy (Steve) Harris of Niskayuna, NY, and Polly (John) Morgan of Rodman, NY. She is also survived by a niece Abbie Farrar of Niskayuna, and two nephews James and Chris Morgan, both of Syracuse, NY.
Marsha was employed as an investment officer for many years by Community Bank, both in Watertown and Rochester, NY. She then went to Jefferson Community College and Buffalo State College where she received a BA in Social Work with an emphasis in Art Therapy. After Marsha completed her MSW at the University of Albany, she was employed at Albany Medical Center as a Social Worker.
Marsha was a gifted artist and spent most of her free time painting. Friends and family were fortunate to receive her works of art as gifts. She also loved the Adirondack Mountains and frequently painted nature scenes. The last few years, her cat Maggie kept her company.
There will be calling hours on Saturday, May 30th from 2-4 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany. A brief service will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society.
