Markedia Shropshire

The sun rose on the life of Markedia Shropshire December 26, 1986, and the light of life left her on February 12, 2026, as God called her home surrounded by loved ones. Markedia or as she was known to family and friends Kikki received her formal education from the Albany City School district. She lived a life that was full and free. Kikki loved to travel and loved her mom, children and family dearly. She had a smile that could light up a room and a personality to match. She spent the last few years of her life struggling with illness, but she never let it keep her down she fought the good fight until the call from God to rest from labor came.

Markedia gave birth to three children Markeise, Saraya, and Brenda Shropshire, who will miss her very much. She also leaves behind her mother, Markedia Singletary, Father William A. Shropshire, Brothers Terrance and William J. Shropshire, Richard Seals (Buffalo, Ny), Isaiah, Christopher, and Zamire Oliver (Schenectady, Ny). Sister Jasmine Oliver (Alanta, Ga), Aunts Audrey Hines (Atlanta, Ga), Denise Bailey (Chatham, Ny), Donna Norword (Schenectady, Ny).

Markedia’s comes from a large family who greeted her with love upon her arrival. Sister Ethel M. Singletary, Grandparents (maternal) Jasper “Bo” Singletary, Laura Bethune Singletary, (paternal) William Shropshire Sr., Christine Burns and Aunt Dolores Carter

Kikki also leaves behind a host of other relatives, and friends that will miss the light she gave to the world.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday February 25, 2026 at 2:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205
